Talk: High Quality Artisan Chocolate Production

York Cocoa House is a little chocolate shop with a global reach, the business operates at an accessible level of the high end, high quality, artisan chocolate market, while furthering education and understanding of a global industry that originated in York.

We are committed to and inspired by all aspects of the chocolate industry, our challenge is to provide a consistent quality product while responding in an innovative and personable way to our customer's interests and consumption demands. We benchmark our practices against other, accessible food sectors so we can ensure transparency, efficiencies and wholesomeness in our Critical Control Points. While working within the 'regular' HACCP framework we have extended our decision making framework to identify a wider matrix of critical control points that incorporate, ethical, economic and social values into our operational procedures.

York Cocoa House is a home for chocolate lovers, the shop front itself offers chocolate retail, café and educational workshops for the dissemination of our love of chocolate. Our wider collaborations, consultancies and education allow exchanges in best practices as well as a wider examination of the market for the maintenance and growth of our enterprise.

There is a wealth of interesting relationships that can be studied to aid us with our product development and individual aims including socio economic drivers of choice, understanding consumer driven innovation, national wealth (GDP) and market elasticity, experience in strategic management, public speaking, PR & Marketing to name just a few.

The above will be discussed in relation to the chocolate industry and also how different sectors and markets can learn from each other's experiences for the benefit of all.
